You are on vacation, determined to enjoy the natural jewels of the Provençal region. In your viewfinder: a languid day in the shadow of Cap Canaille or in one of the coves that border the Mediterranean, between Marseille and Cassis. Please note, access is regulated!
A calanque offers the chance to enjoy a walk among the pine trees followed by a swim in crystal-clear waters. However, in summer, the forested areas within the Calanques National Park are more exposed to the risk of fire. Therefore, to protect walkers and the sites, access to the forests is regulated. For pedestrians, the "Envie de Balade" (Want a Walk) program is renewed every summer.
Before going on a picnic, check the access to the forest areas in the municipalities of Marseille and Cassis and in the area of the municipality of La Ciotat according to the fire risk.
Depending on the weather conditions, access to the massifs is authorized:
- ORANGE: all day
- RED: only in the morning until 11 a.m.
- BLACK: prohibited all day
