The art of renewing gourmet traditions

La Roy René confectionery is an institution in the Marseille and Aix region. This family business which has existed for 3 generations offers high-end confectionery in France and internationally. Its flagship treat is calisson. Focus on an eternal delight.

A thriving Provençal family business

It all began in 1920 for this company which, initially, manufactured nougat then diversified with the manufacture of Calisson. In 1950, Confiserie du Roy René was already the leading producer of calissons in France. In the 1990s, Maurice Farine – you can't make this up when you talk about delicacies… – extended the range of products and set out to conquer the international market.

A company awarded for its innovation

Since 2003, Confiserie du Roy René has stood out. She offers the Calisson cream who is elected flavor of the year ". In 2010, it repeated its desire to stand out on the market and received the innovation prize for these Calicocktails. This is a salty/sweet calissons recipe, which combines black olive, ratatouille and dried tomato.

New flavors to try, from Aix to Marseille!

With the Califruits and the Califleurs, the Confiserie du Roy René focuses on a sweet, festive and colorful variation. Several flavors are available: Caliorange, Calicitron, Califigue or Caliviolette. For those who monitor their figure closely, there are Calinous. This is the “pitchoune” version of Calissons. Finally, some will appreciate the Choco d’Aix, which combines bitter chocolate with the traditional Calisson recipe.
