Open-air cinema… and starry skies guaranteed!

The magic of open-air cinema has been practiced in Marseille for decades. It is no coincidence that the homeland of Pagnol or Raimu is the Phoenician city!

This year 2020, from July 15 to September 19, several sessions are offered in different locations, and of course entry is free!

Which cinema?

With " Life of Pi, " young viewers aren't forgotten, and their parents can also share in the thrilling emotions of this maritime adventure. In a different vein, "The Rider," an American film that won an award at Deauville in 2017, brings together adults and teenagers.

As for the famous "The Young Girls of Rochefort", it can be said that it brings together four generations! In short, a program that allows you to go with friends or family.

In what places?

Some screenings are offered at the Calanques National Park on the Frioul Islands , which are reached by boat—an adventure in itself! Others take place at the Mucem site, which, in addition to the starry sky, offers a view of the open sea… The Borély Castle, in its vast park, offers a different kind of charm.

All these places are accessible on foot or by ferry, for those staying near the Old Port, or by bus or bike.

The ideal place to stay near the screening venues is the charming Hotel BelleVue on the Old Port of Marseille: https://hotelbellevuemarseille.com/
