This is the 8th edition and success has been achieved every year. The Emmaüs reading cabins occupy the Catalans, Prophète, Pointe Rouge and Corbières beaches throughout the summer. The principle is simple: allow sunbathers to read on the beach!
Book loans for smart tanning
Emmaüs offers beach libraries which are based on solidarity.
Donors bring books to the charity and it therefore offers them to readers... who sometimes cannot afford a book or who have simply forgotten to buy one.
A principle that can only please the Belle Vue hotel which has been offering its guests, for many years, self-service works.
The Marseille beach libraries are fulfilled every day.
Of course, not everyone plays the game and some works disappear, but overall, readers are good audiences.
It also happens that generous swimmers, seduced by the operation, leave the work they read on the beach in the library and offer it to another person.

Wild libraries in Vallon des Auffes and Frioul
Other initiatives of this type exist Marseille, especially at Valley of the Auffes where a glass box containing works has been installed.
Little words can be slipped into the works to comment on the reading.
It’s also an opportunity to join the library’s Facebook page and keep it alive through comments.
Same scenario Frioul near the church with a funny library in the shape of a bicorne rhinoceros, which hides, in its glass belly, lovely stories to savor with your eyes half-closed between two swims.
