Each region of France has its own honeybees
Nectar, an essential basic element for the production of honey by bees, is as diverse as our different regions are. In Provence we love it for its fine and tasty taste, its light aromas with floral and fruity notes. HAS Marseille the hives of Gerard Jourdan on the hills of the city are well known and its honey has a good reputation.
Seeds for honey flowers
These seeds, today bought by everyone, are sown in gardens, balconies, window sills... and of course parks where the variety and explosion of colors and the most beautiful effect! If more and more establishments in town find a corner to place beehives, others such as the BelleVue hotel in the Vieux Port also offer sparrow shelter and food for bees on its flowered balcony.
The French Biodiversity Office mobilized
…because everything is linked! Indeed, pollination is a key step in the reproduction of many plants. And it is indeed the bees, and other insects, which transport pollen when feeding. Thus, what affects pollinators affects flowering plants… and vice versa. The Government therefore launched a National plan for pollinating insects.
