Each year, the Blue Flag Label highlights beaches and marinas that consistently pursue a policy of sustainable tourism development.
The label criteria are divided into 9 themes:
- criteria related to water and sanitation;
- criteria related to biodiversity and management of the natural environment;
- security-related criteria;
- criteria related to waste management;
- criteria related to training/education in sustainable development;
- criteria related to equipment and services;
- criteria related to sobriety;
- criteria relating to information for users;
- criteria related to responsible governance.
