Marseille is the sea, the sun, the coves... but also the waste that's piling up everywhere. What if we stopped complaining and took action? That's exactly what "One Waste a Day" proposes, a citizens' movement that advocates a simple but powerful action: picking up one piece of waste a day. Just one. Easy, right?
A small gesture, a big impact
The idea is clear: if every Marseille resident picked up just one piece of trash a day, the city would be unrecognizable within weeks. Created in 2015, this initiative shows that together, we can make a difference, without waiting for others to do it for us.
Why get started?
1. It's fast: A piece of trash takes two seconds to pick up.
2. It's contagious: By sharing your actions on social media (#1wasteperday), you motivate others.
3. It's good for Marseille: Less waste means a cleaner, more beautiful, more pleasant city.
4. It raises awareness: We quickly realize how much waste our consumption generates... and we start to sort better.
Actions that bring people together
The association doesn't just spread the word: it regularly organizes collective collections, cleanups, and educational events. Whether at the Old Port, on the beaches, or in the neighborhoods, there's always an opportunity to roll up your sleeves and take action.
How to participate ?
Start small: One piece of trash today, another tomorrow.
Spread the word: If everyone gets involved, the impact is enormous.
Join the events: Follow “ One Piece of Waste a Day » on the networks for nothing
Lead by example: One photo, one hashtag #1 piece of waste per day, and you inspire others!
In the end, it's just a matter of habit. Everyone can do their part, and together, we can truly transform Marseille. So, shall we get started? Grab a bag, some gloves, and show that you love your city too!
